Priscilla Weaver, President of the West Virginia Area Team, sent a report telling about an event they called ‘Jesus in the Streets’.
Priscilla reports, “We have held two meetings on a Friday at a small pavilion in our county seat, Madison, WV. While Madison is a very small town, there is a sizable number of people who are homeless and live on the streets. At both meetings, we served hotdogs, chips, and provide drinks to all who attended and to the ‘street’ people. We have done it several times.
One Friday, the ladies from the Fulton Women’s House where we have our weekly Bible study helped us serve the food. Two of the ladies gave their hearts to the Lord as well as a gentleman from the street. We had a young man that preached along with his family and two musicians who provided music.
This young preacher is a former drug addict that spent 7 years in prison before God delivered him. We have several others join us who have a heart for those in bondage to destructive lifestyles. Testimonies go a long way in helping people understand that God loves them and wants the best for them.”
It takes so little to reach out and touch those in our communities with the love of Jesus. Providing a simple meal goes a long way when someone doesn’t know where their next meal will come from. Be His hands feeding the multitudes and let us know your story.
